Remodeling marketing starts with how homeowners shop
Remodeling marketing has to work for a purchase nobody makes on impulse. The FTC tells homeowners to get multiple estimates and California's license board says to get at least three written bids, so expect to be compared side by side. Google's suggestions show what homeowners look for along the way:
| Stage | What homeowners search | What you need |
|---|---|---|
| Ideas | kitchen remodel ideas, whole house remodel before and after | Project galleries by type and city |
| Cost | kitchen remodel cost estimator, bathroom remodel cost in california | Honest cost ranges from your own jobs |
| Trust | kitchen remodel near me reviews, general contractor license lookup | Reviews, replies, license and insurance |
| Paying | kitchen remodel near me with financing | A financing page, if you offer it |
| Planning | do i need a permit to remodel my kitchen, how long does a kitchen remodel take | Posts that answer permits and timelines |
| Contact | kitchen design consultation near me, general contractors near me free estimates | A consultation button on every page, answered fast |
Searches from Google autocomplete, October 2026.
Kitchen and bathroom remodeling marketing: a page per project, per city
Kitchen remodeling marketing and bathroom remodeling marketing work the same way: a page for each project type in each city you want work in, so "kitchen remodel" plus your town lands on a page about exactly that. It's the first thing a kitchen remodeling marketing agency should build. Each page needs:
- A gallery of that project type in that city, with the town in each caption.
- An honest cost range from your own jobs. "Cost" and "cost estimator" sit right next to kitchen and bathroom remodels in Google's suggestions.
- Financing, if you offer it. Google suggests "with financing" for kitchen, bathroom and remodeling contractor searches.
- A "Book a design consultation" button, saying what happens at the consult and whether it's free. People search "kitchen design consultation cost" before they book.
Project galleries by project type and city
Project galleries win or lose the first impression, and they can bring in search traffic too. Google's image SEO guidelines ask for short, descriptive filenames and images near relevant text: kitchen-remodel-pasadena.jpg on your Pasadena kitchen page is better than IMG_4021.jpg in a slideshow. Here's a design-build site we built, with every project on its own page:

S-AC Design Build
Los Angeles, CA
Website built by Vaultio: a portfolio page for each project, a page for each city, and a "Start a project" button.

Remodeling contractor marketing has to answer what homeowners are told to check. The FTC says to "consider only contractors who are licensed and insured" and to read reviews with a critical eye (FTC). Make all of it easy to find:
- Your license number on every page. In California, every contractor ad, online ads included, must show the state license number (CSLB).
- Insurance and credentials, stated plainly. California's license board tells homeowners to ask for a copy of your certificate of insurance. Offer it up front, with your warranty and any memberships you hold, like NARI or NKBA.
- Reviews, answered. Google says more reviews and positive ratings can help your local ranking, and replying shows you value feedback (Google). We reply to every Google review for you, with the service and city in it.
Check what homeowners see
Look yourself up on CSLB's license check the way a careful homeowner would. It searches by license number, business name or personnel name and shows complaint disclosures. Make sure your site matches it. Outside California, link to your state's or city's lookup.
General contractor marketing: additions, ADUs and whole-home remodels
General contractor marketing covers the biggest jobs, and bigger jobs bring more questions: cost per square foot, plans, permits, who does what. On top of kitchens and bathrooms, a general contractor marketing agency should build:
| Page | Searches it answers | What goes on it |
|---|---|---|
| Home additions + city | home addition contractors near me, home addition cost per square foot | Past additions, a cost range, how you handle plans and permits |
| ADUs + city | adu builders near me, adu builders near me prices | ADUs you've built, sizes, price ranges, timeline |
| Whole-house remodels | whole house remodel contractors near me, whole house remodel before and after | One project per page, before and after |
| Custom homes & design-build | general contractors near me residential | How design and construction run under one team |
Searches from Google autocomplete, October 2026. On your kickoff call we check what people search in your cities.
That's how the Red Stag Construction site at the top of this page is laid out: pages for kitchens, bathrooms, ADUs, additions and custom homes, a page per area like Beverly Hills and Pasadena, a gallery of past work, and a "Schedule a Consultation" button.
Answer permit and timeline questions before the call
Google suggests "do I need a permit to remodel my kitchen" (and bathroom, and house) and "how long does a kitchen remodel take". Each is a blog post for your city that ends with a consultation button. Permit rules vary by city and county, so say what's typical where you work, and that you pull the permits if you do. With Vaultio, a new post goes up on your site every day.
Remodeling leads: Houzz, Angi or your own site?
Remodeling leads from Houzz and Angi are easy to start, and Google's suggestions show contractors weighing them up: "houzz pro pricing", "is houzz worth it", "angi leads cost". Here's how they compare:
Houzz
- Homeowners browse it for photos and ideas
- Your profile sits in a directory of other pros
- Standing out there is a paid ad
- Reviews you earn there stay on Houzz
Angi
- Leads can start right away
- Each request can go to up to five pros
- You pay per lead, win or lose
- Leads stop when you stop paying
Your site + Google profile
- The homeowner found you, not a list
- No per-lead fee
- Your Google profile and reviews stay yours
- SEO takes months to build
Lead sites can fill gaps while your own pages and reviews build. Just know what you're paying for (how Angi leads work).

What a home remodeling marketing agency should do every day
A home remodeling marketing agency should handle the contractor marketing services you'd otherwise piece together yourself, every day, not once a quarter. On the $449 plan:
Every day
A new blog post on your site, a new Google Business Profile post, and a personal reply to every Google review, with your service and city in it.
Every lead
An instant email reply to every form lead, so a homeowner collecting bids hears back from you right away.
Every month
Competitor tracking: what other remodelers near you changed, and how we answer it.
All the time

Google Ads for remodelers: pay for consultations, not clicks
Google Ads for remodelers can put you in front of people searching "kitchen remodel near me" this week, while your SEO builds. Remodeling clicks can be expensive, so build the account around booked consultations. Google Ads or Meta Ads management is an optional add-on from $500 a month; ad spend is separate, paid straight to Google or Meta.
- 1
Track calls and consultation requests
Count calls from your ads and calls to your site's number as conversions, with a minimum call length so wrong numbers don't count (Google Ads). Then cut keywords that never lead to a consultation.
- 2
Match each ad to a project and a town
Kitchen ads land on your kitchen page, ADU ads on your ADU page, shown only in the towns where you want that work. Never just the homepage.
- 3
Block searches that never become projects
Job seekers, students, DIYers and TV fans all type contractor and remodeling words. Make them negative keywords. Everything below is a real Google suggestion:
Bid on
- kitchen remodel near me
- bathroom remodel contractors near me
- home remodeling contractors near me
- home addition contractors near me
- adu builders near me
- remodeling contractors near me with financing
- general contractors near me residential
Block
- remodeling contractors near me hiring
- general contractor salary / school
- how to become a general contractor
- general contractor example / description
- what is a marketing contractor
- kitchen remodel cost diy
- home remodeling shows
A simple contractor marketing plan, in order
A general contractor marketing plan doesn't need to be a 30-page document. A useful marketing plan for contractors is short, in order and worked on every week. Run the middle column yourself, or let us run it:
| When | The plan | With Vaultio |
|---|---|---|
| Week 1 | List the project types and towns you want more of. Sort your best photos by type and city. | Kickoff call: we learn your services, area and competitors |
| By day 8 | Launch a page per project type per town: gallery, cost range, consultation button. | Website live in 8 days, unlimited pages |
| By week 2 | Fix your Google Business Profile: categories, services, service area, photos. | Fixed by week 2, then a Google post every day |
| Every week | Publish a post answering a real question: permits, timelines, costs. | A new blog post every day |
| After every job | Ask for a Google review, and reply to every review. | Every Google review answered, with service and city |
| Every lead | Reply in minutes, then book the consultation. | Instant email reply to every form lead |
| Day 28, then monthly | Check your rankings and what competitors changed. Fill the gaps. | First ranking report at day 28, competitor tracking monthly |

More organic traffic in 90 days.
Or a full refund.

We record where you start
When you sign up, we note your organic traffic: clicks to your website from Google search over the 30 days before, in your Google Search Console. A brand-new site starts at zero.
- 2
We do the work for 90 days
Your site goes live in 8 days, then a blog post and Google post every day, a reply to every review, listings and backlinks. You can watch all of it in your dashboard.
- 3
We check. You see the proof.
After day 90 we compare your third month with where you started and send you the numbers. No growth? Email team@vaultio.co and we refund every payment you've made, in full.
The fine print, in plain English
- Organic traffic means clicks to your website from Google search, as shown in your Google Search Console. We set it up if you don't have it.
- We compare days 61 to 90 after you sign up with the 30 days before you signed up. If clicks didn't go up, you get a full refund.
- A full refund is every monthly payment you've made for the $449 plan, including your last-month deposit.
- Your plan stays active for the 90 days, and we need access to your website and Google Search Console to do the work and measure it.
- Email team@vaultio.co within 30 days after your 90-day mark to ask for the refund.
- Ad budgets you pay Google or Meta directly aren't part of the plan, so they aren't part of the refund.
- After a refund your plan ends. Your domain, Google Business Profile and reviews stay yours; the website and automations stop.
